Child marriage prevention stage debut in Nakla

In order to declare Nakla upazila of Sherpur as a child-free upazila, a room of 43 secondary level educational institutions of the upazila has been declared as 'Child Marriage Resistance Platform'. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rajiv Kumar Sarkar announced the program at a program organized at Upazila Parishad premises on Tuesday noon.

At the time of the upazila administration, the distribution of T-shirts and caps with 'Child Marriage Resistance Manch' was distributed among the 344 students of the 43 secondary schools and madrassas in the upazila. Besides, the namesake of 'Child Marriage Resistance Manch' was given in the name of their respective educational institutions.

The discussion was chaired by UNO Rajiv Kumar Sarker. Upazila Awami League leader Mostafizur Rahman and Shafiqul Islam, acting chairman Sarwar Alam Talukder, municipal mayor Hafizur Rahman, district council member Chowdhul Haque, Nokla Police Station OC Khan Abdul Halim Siddiqui, Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Abdur Rashid, Women Affairs Officer Armana Haque , Students of Nayabari High School and Nokhola Model Pilot Model High School Happy Akhtar and sajedura Rahman bineta member respectively.

Rajiv Kumar said, the first upazila of Sherpur will be declared vacant as child marriage free from this month. As a part of this, 'Child Marriage Resistance Mancha' has been established in all the secondary education institutions of the upazila. Through this platform students of the concerned institution will work to prevent child marriage in their respective institutions and areas. After this, the participants of the UNO program participated in the oath.
